Master of Science in Personalized Oral Implantology and Periodontology (MPOIP)
The M.Sc. Personalized Oral Implantology and Periodontology (MPOIP) at the University Medical Center Mainz, Germany, is an international postgraduate Master’s program designed for practicing dentists who want to advance their expertise in modern, evidence-based implantology and periodontology while continuing their professional careers.
Taught 100% in English, the four-semester, 60-ECTS program combines academic excellence with clinical relevance through intensive Presence Weeks in Mainz, hands-on workshops, live online education, clinical observerships, digital treatment planning, scientific training, personalized case discussions, and a Master’s thesis.
MPOIP goes beyond conventional implant education. Participants are trained to understand the biological, surgical, periodontal, prosthetic, digital, and patient-related factors that determine long-term treatment success. Key areas include personalized treatment planning, advanced augmentation and GBR techniques, soft-tissue management, periodontal therapy, compromised and high-risk patients, digital workflows, complication prevention and management, scientific communication, and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
The program brings together an interdisciplinary faculty of experienced clinicians, researchers, and internationally recognized experts. Small-group teaching, practical training models, direct interaction with faculty, and individualized feedback are central elements of the educational concept.
At the heart of MPOIP is also its international community. Dentists from different countries, healthcare systems, and professional backgrounds come together in Mainz to exchange knowledge, experience German university medicine, build scientific and professional networks, and take state-of-the-art knowledge back to their own clinics, universities, and communities.
